The original Kvasin fortress was probably founded at the beginning of the 17th century by Bedřich the younger Vlkanovský from Vlkanov. It is mentioned as early as 1615 with the epithet "at Kvasinách", but the fortress is not explicitly mentioned until 1624 in the confiscation protocol.
