During the Second World War, several raids by British and American bombers were carried out on Pardubice. The target was Fanta's refinery and airport. The first raids took place on August 24, 1944, and 268 bombers participated. Another raid took place on December 28, 1944, and 53 bombers took part in it. Many bombs missed their target (mainly in the first raid) and other places were hit (especially the Jewish quarter)…
