The village of Kostomlaty nad Labem is located 7 km west of the town of Nymburk on the right bank of the Elbe. The surroundings of the village are formed by the almost flat terrain of the Česká Tabula. To the south of the village is a vast floodplain forest. Worth mentioning is a trip to the Mydlovar Castle, approx. 4 km southwest of the village. The village was founded in 1223, the first written mention of the village comes from the same year.
