The oldest castle and parish church in Štramberk was the church of St. Bartholomew by the city walls in the western corner of the square. Today, it is only remembered by a brick prismatic tower with a wooden belfry superstructure, called the Old Tower according to the locals. The considerably dilapidated church of St. Bartolomeja was demolished in 1782.
