On the southern edge of Žamberk rises the wooded hill of Karlovice, where there used to be an observation tower at a height of 476 meters above sea level.
According to legend, Charles IV stayed here in 1356. during the conquest of the nearby Žampach castle. In particular, this typical 4 km distant hill cone and crown of hills with lithic Chlum often favorably affects the weather fluctuations in the village.
