Kamenec is the highest peak of the Novohrad Mountains on the Czech side. It lies near the state border with Austria about 12 km south of Benešov nad Černou.
Beneath the eastern slope of Kamenec lies a vast peatland known as Pohořské sláte.
The top of the mountain is not yet accessible by tourist signs.
