Lake Vápenice

Marbles occur quite rarely in the Žďárské vrchy area and form small positions in the form of lenses in the surrounding rocks. In the vicinity of Žďár nad Sázavou, there are two localities where marble was even mined intensively in the past. Both for the production of lime, but also as a building stone.
