Lake Mostecka was created on the outskirts of the city below Zámecká hora by the flooding of the Ležáky lignite mine. It is used for swimming and year-round sports activities. It has an area of ​​310 ha and was filled for 6 years. Its maximum depth is 75 meters and it contains 70.000.000 m3 of water. It has very clean and transparent water with visibility up to 8 meters. There is a 9 km cycle route around.
