A group of basalt rocks (604 m) just by the state border northeast of Krompach was allegedly named after the former statue of St. John the Baptist. The rocks are part of a basalt vein that filled an extensive fissure in softer chalk deposits in the Tertiary. Due to the gradual action of weathering, the surrounding sandstones were eroded and the basalt vein was dissected into the form of several rock walls...
