Cemetery Church of St. Gothard, bishop near Hořice

The low hill of St. Gotharda has been sought after since ancient times, which is confirmed by the finds of a pagan furnace from 1818-1819, when gravel was taken here for the construction of the imperial road from Hradec Králové to Jičín. The first wooden sanctuary was supposed to have been created here thanks to the monks of the Strahov Monastery, who received the hill as a gift from Bishop Jan I before 1139.
