Šternberk Castle and its bat rooms

Šternberk Castle, standing in the center of the town of the same name near Olomouc, is remarkable for its size and structure, as well as for its decoration ranging from Gothic to Renaissance. Originally a medieval defensive seat, it was founded in the middle of the 13th century by a noble from an old Bohemian family, Zdeslav of Chlumec and from Šternberk.
