Gothic tower Powder room with a view

The late Gothic tower was probably built in the first half of the 15th century as an advanced fortification of the Cologne castle and the northern outskirts of the city. In its original form, it culminated in a high conical roof with a walkway and was supplemented by another fortification, which has not been preserved today. In the 16th and 17th centuries, in addition to its defensive purpose, it also served as a watchtower. Later, a warehouse for ammunition was located here…
