Wooden church in Broumov

The cemetery church of the Virgin Mary in Broumov is the oldest wooden building in the Czech Republic. The construction technique is also exceptional. It does not have a single nail, but a half-timbered structure made of massive oak beams. The entire beam structure of the nave and the chancel, the ceiling and the rafters, on which the high belfry is mounted, form one whole, a perfect work of carpentry that has survived the centuries.
Opening hours: July - August 9 -…
