Chrudim – Tupled deer

Since the middle of the 19th century, you can find the tupled deer (originally a house sign of a deer with two bodies) at house No. 148 in Havlíčková Street. According to legend, the deer's head commemorates the owner of the house, Rytíř from Hyršov, who was trampled by deer while hunting. The later depiction of the double body of the deer is explained by the reconciliation between two hostile brothers - the heirs of the house. However, the house sign probably refers to…
