České Budějovice - Monument to Czechoslovak RAF airmen

The monument, the main part of which is the torso of an English Spitfire war fighter, was built in memory of České Budějovice airmen who died during the Second World War in the Battle of Britain. It was unveiled on September 12, 2015. The construction of the monument was initiated by Vladimír Vopalecký, whose uncle Josef served in the British Royal Air Force. A fiberglass model of the legendary Spitfire fighter weighing 300 kilograms was produced in the workshop...
