České Budějovice – Jiráský dam
The dam in České Budějovice is not named after the writer, but the builder. The concrete river barrier was created in 1930 (sometimes stated as 1932) for the purpose of regulating the Vltava near the confluence with the Malša. In addition to the regulation of the water flow, it is also of energy importance, the power plant on the right bank is equipped with two Francis turbines (210 and 250 kW) and one Kaplan turbine with an output of 300 kW.
