České Budějovice - Bishop's residence
The extensive Baroque building was built between 1763 and 1768. It was originally intended to serve as a Latin gymnasium and a student dormitory, which were established by the Piarist order after their arrival in České Budějovice. In 1775, the building was further expanded. In 1785, the newly established Bishopric of České Budějovice took over the building as its seat. The building still serves as the representative seat of the local bishops today.
