Brno - plague column
The Plague Column in Brno was completed in 1689 in memory of the plague that plagued the city in 1679–1680 (the construction was decided by the city council in 1679).
The statue of the Virgin Mary located at the top of the Corinthian Column is the work of Ferdinand Pfaundler. Several masons, sculptors and master masons participated in the other works (according to the original assignment of the council or due to the death of the artists or disagreements with the city council).
