In 1899, the famous Slovak architect Dušan Samo Jurkovič (1868-1947) settled in Brno. In 1905-06, under the then Imperial Forest, he designed and built his villa in the style of an English country house. There were living spaces on the ground floor, a studio on the first floor and a wine cellar in the basement.
