The village of Březina, which belonged to nearby Hořepník, is documented for the first time in 1299, when it was the property of the Zeman Dětoch, who is mentioned as early as 1304. The local fortress appears in sources before 1522, when the Březina estate was bought by Burian Trčka from Linden trees. In 1572, Březina was bought by Jan Houska from Zahrádka, after whose death his elder son Stanislav took over the village in 1574 and built a new fortress, courtyard and brewery here.…
