The massive castle is a prominent feature of the town of Brandýs nad Labem in the Central Bohemia region. The castle stands on a promontory above the river Elbe. In the four-winged castle building, the masonry of the original castle has been preserved, especially in the northern wing with late Gothic windows, as well as in the eastern wing and tower.
