The village of Bernartice is located approximately 9 km south of Milevsko in the district of Písek at an altitude of 463 m. The Jalový stream flows through the southern edge of the town, which flows from the Koloměř pond.
The first mentions of the village are from the end of the 13th century - at that time Bernard of Bernarty lived here. Over the centuries, there were a number of owners, from 1606 the estate belonged to the Jesuits.
