About 7 km east of Zábřeh, a settlement was founded in the 12th century by the hunter of King Přemysl Otakar II. She was given the name Brníčko - the name is probably derived from the Old Slavic word brnije, i.e. mud or clay... Above the village of Brníčko rises the ruins of the castle of the same name.
