When in the thirties of the last century, thanks to Bať's factories and new construction, Zlín began to rapidly grow into a large city, the capacity of the old city cemetery, which stood southeast of today's Náměstí Míru, ceased to be sufficient. At the instigation of Tomáš Bata, inspired by the forest cemeteries seen during his trip to North America, the architect František Lydia Gahura created a project of something similar...
