The spa was established in the second half of the 19th century, in 1882, when Dr. Karl Anjel had a hydrotherapy spa built here. Five years later, even the composer Leoš Janáček stayed in them. The year 1889 brought a change: Dr.Ludwig Schweinburg took over the spa and it was renamed the Schweinburg forest sanatorium.
