Žernosecké lake

Žernoseck Lake, also called Píšťan Lake, is located northeast of Lovosice (on the right bank of the Elbe). Lake Žernoseck with islands was created by sand mining. It is called Píšťanské after the village of Píšťany, near which it is also located. This flooded sandpit with three islets offers a number of recreational spots with beaches, where young and old lovers of swimming, sunbathing and water sports can enjoy themselves. The northern end of the lake is connected by a long flow to the Elbe, from where various ships and boats arrive. Lake Žernoseck also offers many opportunities for spot fishermen.
