Žďár nad Sázavou - former Plague cemetery
It is located near the former monastery in front of today's site of the Tokoz factory. Today it is called the Lower Cemetery. It was built in 1709 during the tenure of the abbot of Vejmluva according to the project of Jan Blažej Santini, then called Morový. It was really intended for possible victims of the plague, but it did not affect Žďár at this time. The cemetery was symbolically built on the ground plan of a human skull with three final chapels.…
