Defunct fortress in Heřmanice
The above-mentioned village is located north of Jaroměř and was founded at the crossroads between Jaroměř, Chvalkovice, Kuks and Choustník Hradiště, while the first mention of its existence can be found in 1352, when there was also a parish church there. At that time, Heřmanice was in the possession of Rupert, burgrave of Hradec Králové. In the years 1357-1368 it was held by Vyšemír from Heřmanice and from 1371 by his sons Pašek and Věněk.…
