Castle in Smidare

Just like elsewhere in the area, there was originally just a fortress here, which occupied the entire area between the Podhradní mlýn, the courtyard, the rectory and Cidlina. It was partly built of stone and partly of wood, and its protection was formed by ramparts and ditches, which could be quickly filled with water from Cidlina.
