The village of Ptenín is located in southern Pilsen, approximately three kilometers south of the better-known Merklín. In the first written mention from 1228, it is stated that the village was the property of the monastery of St. George. In 1379, it passed from the property of the church to the hands of the local lords. There were to be up to seven estates. In 1479, Petr Bozděch from Kamenice became the owner of all of Ptenín.
