Nový Hrad Castle in Jimlín

The new castle rises above the village of Jimlín, it was built in the 14th century by the knight Záviš from Jimlín. It was originally a stone fortress. It was not until 1453, when Jimlín was inherited by Albrecht Bezdružický from Kolovrat, that the reconstruction of the fortress into a magnificent castle began. The castle was in the possession of the family for more than 100 years. The last owner from the Kolovrat (Novohradský) family started rebuilding the castle in the Renaissance style.
