Žireč castle grounds

In the village of Žireč, located on the right bank of the Elbe, halfway between Kuks and Dvor Králové nad Labem, we can see the nicely reconstructed castle complex, whose history began in the middle of the 14th century. At that time, a stone fortress stood on the site of the local castle, which was rebuilt in the Renaissance style by the Zilvar family from Pilníkov at the end of the 16th century.
