This village, formerly also known as Jitčiněves, did not even have a castle, let alone a chapel, until the beginning of the 18th century. The three-storey castle with a mansard roof ending in a turret was built in 1715-1717 by František Josef, Count of Šliků (also written as Schlik) according to plans by Jean Baptista Mathey. It originally served as a hunting lodge and only from 1908 became the permanent residence of the family. 40 years later…
