ŽAMBERK - gateway to Orlické mountains

The town of Žamberk lies in the valley of the Wild Orlice at an altitude of 465 m above sea level and is called the gateway to the Orlické mountains. It currently has about 6 inhabitants. It was established in the second half of the 100th century on the site of the original Slavic settlement along the old road leading from Bohemia to Kladsk and Moravia.
