An interesting feature in the castle park Bzenec, an ancient linden tree

The adjacent English park near the castle in Bzenec can boast of its Memorial Tree - an ancient linden, over 500 years old. It was the most powerful linden in our country. The trunk was overturned by a strong wind sometime in the 18th century and split into nine parts, so supports had to be placed around it. The trunk was seven and three-quarters fathoms in circumference, the crown reached 66 fathoms, and the branches were 10 fathoms long. Another one was standing nearby…
