Behind Kubata
Jakub Kubata is a South Bohemian legend, even if he is uncertain as a historical figure. In 1581, he was supposed to lead a rebellion against the authorities and was executed. A monument was erected near the alleged place of execution in 1908, and Karel Klostermann also took part in these celebrations. He then stayed in Zlivi several times and wrote his well-known novel Mlhy na Blaty, in which this Kubat legend is very strong.
