The viewpoint is a basalt hill (596 m) located on the eastern edge of Práchná, south of the road to Nové Bor. It was originally called Cow Mountain (Kuhberg), in the interwar period the name Cold Hill (Kühlberg) was adopted for it.
Since the unforested top of the hill used to have a wonderful view of the surrounding area, the Prague merchant Franz Schimmel built a summer restaurant here as early as 1861. But it soon disappeared and...
