Above the left bank of the Elbe in Krásné Březn rises a hill called Kanón, or Krebsův vrch. After the quarrying of the stone, an inclined 8-meter-high rock formation formed by basalt columns remained at the top of the rock. Cruise ship passengers called it a cannon because it reminded them of a heavy artillery mortar. The name has survived to this day.
