The Augustinian monastery in Vrchlabí was founded in 1705. It was founded by Maxmilián Morzin, the then owner of the estate. But he died in 1706 and his brother Václav undertook the completion of the monastery. It was built according to the design of the architect Adam Auer, who was also the builder.
