Velké Meziříčí - memorial to the fallen
It commemorates the 60 citizens of the city who were executed for participating in the anti-fascist uprising on May 7, 1945. The uprising was a response to the uprising in Prague. However, it ended tragically here. The monument stands at the place where Jindřich Nováček, the leader of the uprising and founder of the revolutionary district national committee, who survived the entire war underground, was the last to be executed as a warning.
