The village of Velká Roudka is mentioned in written sources for the first time in the middle of the 14th century as the property of Bolek from Roubanina.
Together with the neighboring Mala Roudka, the villages are considered to be originally one, namely a very old village, which should have been created at the same time as the nearby town of Velké Opatovice.
