The dominant feature of the city center of Ústí na Labem is the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary built around 1318, the church tower was added later, in the second half of the 2th century. The original church was built by German colonists. In 14, during the Hussite Wars, the church was looted and heavily damaged, including damage to the nave and the church tower.
