Uherskobrod city walls

The first settlement above the ford across the Olšava River was established on the border of Moravia and Hungary sometime in the 10th century. It later grew and after the promotion by Přemysl Otakar II. in the 13th century it became a royal city and the construction of city fortifications made it an important land fortress. The original simple one consisted of a fortification wall made of quarry stone, which reached a length of more than 2 meters and a thickness of almost two meters...
