The Velká Smardlavé valley is the intersection of the blue and green tourist signs on the right bank of the Velká Smardlavá stream in the south direction from the recreation and ski center in the village of Bílá. A hydrogen sulphide spring springs up in this valley about half a kilometer from the crossroads, and for this reason the river flowing through it got its name.
