Ráztoka valley near Držková

   The expression "ráztoka" has survived to this day from the speech of the original Wallachian immigrants. In the language of the people who came to our Western Carpathians during their long-term migration from as far away as Romania and Ukraine, this word denoted a deep valley enclosed by particularly steep mountain slopes, or a gorge or ravine.
