Turnov - the gateway to the Bohemian Paradise

We are going to the city, which is known as the city of precious stones, but also as the gateway to the northern part of the Bohemian Paradise. The history of the town of Turnov dates back to around 1250, when Hradiště was founded in Markvartici, above the river Jizera. Turnov is first documented in writing in 1272 in connection with Jaroslav of Turnov from the Markvartic family.
