The name probably comes from "hewing wood" in the local forests. Under Bystřice mayor František Fryšák, a new road from Bystřice through Tesák and Troják towards Vsetín was promoted. The road followed the upper course of the Bystřička and Juhyná, broke through the Hostýnské vrchy and thus connected Hana with Vsack, thus expanding the connection between Moravia and Slovakia.
