Synagogue in Český Krumlov

The synagogue in Český Krumlov with an octagonal tower was built in 1909 by the local Jewish community. It is an Art Nouveau building with the use of neo-Romanesque elements. It was the first building in Austria-Hungary, for the construction of which a reinforced concrete structure was used. The project was implemented according to the plans of the Prague architect Viktor Kafka. The construction was largely financed by a local rich factory family…
