Svinaře is located 6 km northwest of Mníšek pod Brdy and 6 km south of Karlštejn.
The first mention of the village of Svináre dates from 1088. In the first half of the 14th century, there was a fortress here, which served until the beginning of the 16th century, when it ceased to be used.
In 1766, Antonín Maschek from Maasburg had a baroque castle and a garden with a park built in the courtyard of the riverside court.
