Holy Cross
The village of Svatý Kříž can be found about four kilometers south of Havlíčkův Brod, of which it has been a part since 1975, by the road connecting Havlíčkův Brod and Jihlava. The village with the German name of Heiligen Kreuz is originally a mining settlement, as there is silver ore in the vicinity. The name of the village is derived from the consecration of the local church of the Finding of the Holy Cross.
